Street Smarts Back-to-School Traffic Safety Blast

  • Introduction: We welcome all drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to a fun-filled interactive traffic safety open house with games, prizes and free raffle.


This free family-friendly event features 12 booths with traffic safety activities and games hosted by many community partners. Ecology Action will teach bike safety with a youth obstacle course. Santa Cruz City Schools crossing guard Jerry Cacace will be at the SCPD booth to answer questions. Impact Teen Drivers offers an "intexicated course" where young and old can experience the dangers of texting on the road and in the car. Current eBikes provides free bike safety check-ups. All may enter a free  raffle of 25 traffic safety items including youth bike, bike helmets and reflective gear.
