City of Santa Cruz Launches Solar Marketplace

SANTA CRUZ (November 18, 2014) –  As part of the 2014 Go Solar Santa Cruz campaign, the City of Santa Cruz Climate Action Program has launched an online Solar Marketplace.

EnergySage is an online search site that assists local consumers in obtaining information about new solar systems, including the tools necessary to effectively and confidentially compare costs and financing options.

“The Solar Marketplace is a great way for our residents to gather solar quotes from several providers and make smart solar decisions,” said Ross Clark, Santa Cruz Climate Action Coordinator.

The Santa Cruz Solar Marketplace can be found at . In addition to enabling residents to obtain and compare local contractor quotes in an apples-to-apples fashion, the marketplace features information about solar and energy efficiency efforts by the City, educational content about solar, and case studies of local residents and businesses that have gone solar.

“The EnergySage Solar Marketplace is an alternative to the traditional solar purchase model where consumers engage with multiple installers separately to find the best deal,” said John Gingrich of EnergySage.  “Each installer offers different technologies, design options and financing products, so having and easy and clear way to compare multiple providers really helps consumers find the right fit for their needs.”
