City and Coastal Watershed Council Announce Riverwalk Engagement Plan

SANTA CRUZ, CA – The City of Santa Cruz and the Coastal Watershed Council (CWC) are pleased to announce the launch of the Riverwalk Engagement Plan. The Plan, which will be announced at the press conference, kicks-off with a month of activities, events and other family-fun along the Riverwalk and adjacent San Lorenzo Benchland park and is intended to positively activate the area.  The Leveelies, a group of volunteers dedicated to keeping the San Lorenzo River and the Riverwalk clean, will also make an announcement about their volunteer activities at the press conference. 

Mayor Cynthia Mathews; Coastal Watershed Council Executive Director Greg Pepping, Leveelies Representative Janet Fardette; City Manager Martín Bernal; Police Chief Kevin Vogel; Parks and Recreation Director Mauro Garcia; and other river enthusiasts and City staff.

Why: Learn how the City, CWC and partners will positively activate the Riverwalk area
