Updated City of Santa Cruz Measure H Paving Continues Nov. 21 – Dec. 1

SANTA CRUZ — City of Santa Cruz overlay project work is scheduled for Morrissey Boulevard, King and California streets, Escalona Drive, Delaware Avenue and West Cliff Drive on various days Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 21 and 22, and Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1. Construction hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for Morrissey, California and West Cliff which begin at 7 a.m. Traffic control will be in effect at all locations.
Asphalt paving is occurring on Morrissey Boulevard Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 21 and 22.
King Street work, asphalt paving, raising utility boxes and installing a valley gutter at the Olive Street intersection, is planned for Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1.
Escalona Drive paving work is planned for Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 1.
Paving work is scheduled for Delaware Avenue on Thursday, Nov. 30.
Pavement grinding and cold-in-place recycling is planned for California Street from Laurel Street to Bay Street on Tuesday, Nov. 28, and Wednesday, Nov. 29.
West Cliff Drive pavement grinding and cold-in-place recycling is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30, and Friday, Dec. 1, from Lighthouse Avenue to Columbia Street.
The public is advised to seek alternate routes if possible as there will be delays. Parking will be impacted on all streets.
The construction schedule is predicated on clear weather; any changes will be posted on the City website along with construction area map at www.cityofsantacruz.com.
This construction work is part of the 2017 Overlay Project and Fall 2016 Overlay Project. Both projects, funded by Measure H tax dollars, are rehabilitating local streets that have experienced significant deterioration and are expected to be completed by Dec. 22, in time for the winter holidays.
