SANTA CRUZ — The City of Santa Cruz is scheduled to begin the Cedar Street Rehabilitation Project on Monday, Oct. 8, with weekday traffic impacts from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project, funded by Measure H and Measure D tax dollars and a Community Development Block Grant will rehabilitate/reconstruct Cedar Street from Church Street to Laurel Street and is expected to conclude before summer 2019.
Traffic control will direct two-way traffic with some delays during construction hours. The public is advised to seek alternate routes if possible.
The Cedar Street Rehabilitation Project includes roadway excavation, the installation of hot mix asphalt pavement, Portland cement concrete, ADA compliant curb ramps, roadway striping, and storm drain and sanitary sewer improvements. All work will be performed by contractor Graniterock and is estimated to conclude within 70 working days at a total cost of approximately $2,055,000.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience this construction work may cause and appreciates the public’s cooperation. Any concerns or questions may be addressed to Project Manager Ricardo Valdés, at (831) 420-5198 or RValdes@cityofsantacruz.com.
