SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — The City of Santa Cruz plans to begin repair of a now-barricaded sinkhole at the intersection of Soquel Avenue and Ocean Street on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 8 a.m. Construction will continue 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays for one to two weeks, until the repair is completed.
For traffic heading west on Soquel Avenue, the right-hand turn lane and the adjacent through lane will be closed. The other west-bound Soquel through lane and west-bound left-hand turn lane will remain open. East-bound traffic on Soquel Avenue will not be affected.
The public is advised to seek alternate routes when possible.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience this construction work may cause and appreciates the public’s cooperation. Any concerns or questions may be addressed to Project Manager Dave Glucs, at (831) 420-5194 or DGlucs@cityofsantacruz.com.
