We will be hosting two non-mandatory open house meetings at the 1122 Pacific Avenue Santa Cruz retail location, making the site available for viewing by potentially interested parties on the following dates and times:

Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM and
Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

Summary Scope of Work: 

The City of Santa Cruz is pleased to issue this Request for Proposals seeking parties interested in leasing a city owned retail space at 1122 Pacific Avenue in the historic Del Mar Theatre building. The City is in the process of renovating the unit, including plumbing, HVAC, new 200 amp electrical service, and the installation of a storage space and restroom.

The City now seeks a qualified retailer with a strong track record of success to bring fresh ideas and a new innovative retail concept to the approximately 900 square foot city owned unit. This area of Downtown is popular for dining and entertainment. The seasonal Santa Cruz Trolley, with service to the Boardwalk and beach area, also stops directly in front of the available retail space.

The City desires a unique concept that will compliment rather compete with existing retail in the Downtown core and encourages concepts that are inspired by the historic context of the Del Mar Theatre.
