Green building design, construction and operation can have a significant positive effect on energy and resource efficiency, waste and pollution generation, and the health and productivity of a building's occupants over the life of the structure. The City of Santa Cruz seeks to promote environmental sustainability of natural resources including incentives for waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation and climate protection.
A set of user-friendly documents are available to aid in compliance with City and State requirements.

NOTICE: MISLEADING ADVERTISING BROCHURE
MAY 4, 2015
It has come to the City's attention that Vivint Solar has been distributing a brochure door-to-door within the City of Santa Cruz over the past several days, which impermissibly includes the Santa Cruz City logo, and falsely implies that Vivint Solar is in partnership with or sponsored by the City of Santa Cruz, and misleadingly implies affiliation with the City’s Climate Action Program. The City attorney has issued a cease and desist order to Vivint. The Climate Action Program actively is working with the City Manager's office to rectify any public misconceptions that this brochure may have caused.
Please contact City spokesperson, Keith Sterling at 831.420.5032 with any questions.
