The City of Santa Cruz Green Building Program was one of the earliest founders of a mandatory Green Building Program nationwide. 

The Green Building Program documents recognize the Cal Green Mandatory Measures  within the Checklist for user ease.

Please reference the Residential Guidelines and associated checklists for residential projects.

Please reference the Non Residential Guidelines and associated checklists for non residential projects.

**The Checklists are interactive documents in an Excel format. The Checklist can be exported, made into a PDF, or printed- and then  incorporated into your project plans.**

The City's Water Conservation website offers rebates for toilets, clothes washers, lawn removal, and rain barrels to name a few.

Beyond the savings involved with making intelligent energy efficiency investments there are a variety of funds available to the community that can help absorb some of the initial costs. For rebates through PG&E, click here.
