Traffic Engineering and Design
Evaluates, proposes, and designs improvements to the City circulation system. Responsible for the design, timing and coordination of the traffic signal system, and the installation and maintenance of Bicycle/Pedestrian Facilities and Programs  including locker rentals. Coordinates and administers City trip-reduction program. Provides for professional engineering design of capital improvement projects related to traffic and parking. Responds to citizen requests concerning traffic and parking. Provides staff support to Transportation and Public Works Commission and Downtown Commission

Parking Services Section
Provides all parking enforcement in the City, including patrol of metered and timed parking spaces and Downtown Parking Lot Facilities, attended parking at the Municipal Wharf, Locust and Soquel/Front Garages, and management of Residential Permit Parking Programs. Operates the Parking Office, which administers the payment and collection of parking violations, parking permits and fees. Manages and maintains four parking structures and numerous surface parking lots. Responsible for all parking meter, gate access equipment, meter equipment and lot maintenance and parking meter collection in the City.
