JOBS AT SUMMER CAMPS

More questions? Email or call Robert Acosta at 831 420-6007. All new applicants must also attend a Mandatory Skills Assessment on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Harvey West Park Clubhouse from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Based on the results of this assessment applicants may be invited back to an interview the week of May 4, 2020.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• All staff must attend All-Staff training the week of June 8, 2020.
• All Site Supervisors (Recreation Leader IV) must attend Site Supervisors Training May 16 & 17, 2020, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• All Staff must attend all bi-weekly staff meetings and all Site Supervisors must attend weekly staff meetings. (Evenings to be  determined, 6:30 p.m.)
• Possession at time of hire and continued maintenance of certification in both First Aid and Adult/Child/Infant CPR. Proof of certification must be presented by the week of June 8, 2020. *NO EXCEPTIONS*
• Proof of negative tuberculosis test or clear chest x-ray results must be presented by the week of June 8, 2020.
• All staff must be available to work for the entire length of the program, June 15 - August 7, 2020 - *NO EXCEPTIONS*
• Fingerprint clearance of all employees required prior to beginning work.

Recreation Leader I: Under direction of the Recreation Leader IV and Summer Camps Coordinator, assumes assigned responsibilities for assisting with the planning, organizing and supervising of various activities in summer day camp program.

PAY RANGE: $13.00 per hour starting
HOURS: Approximately 10-20 hours per week
MINIMUM AGE/EXPERIENCE: Must be 15½ years old at program start date. Entry level position.

Recreation Leader II: Under direction of the Recreation Leader IV and Summer Camps Coordinator, assumes assigned responsibilities for assisting with the planning, organizing and supervising of various activities in summer day camp program.

PAY RANGE: $14.3007 per hour starting
HOURS: Approximately 15–25 hours per week
MINIMUM AGE/EXPERIENCE: Must be 16 years old by program start date. Three (3) seasons/semesters of volunteer or one (1) season/semester of paid experience working with children in a recreation or education setting.

Recreation Leader III - Lead: Under supervision of the Recreation Leader IV, Summer Camps Coordinator, Recreation Assistant and Recreation Supervisor, plan, organize, implement and lead an assigned children’s summer day camp program.

PAY RANGE: $15.7416 per hour starting
HOURS: 30-40 hours per week
MINIMUM AGE/EXPERIENCE: Must be 18 years old at time of hire. Three (3) seasons/semesters of paid experience working with children in a recreation or education setting. One (1) season/semester experience leading staff.

Recreation Leader IV - Site Supervisor: Under supervision of the Summer Camps Coordinator, Recreation Assistant and  Recreation Supervisor, plan, organize, implement and lead an assigned children’s summer day camp program.

PAY RANGE: $17.3234 per hour starting
HOURS: 40 hours per week
MINIMUM AGE/EXPERIENCE: Must be 18 years old at time of hire. Three (3) seasons/semesters of paid experience working with children in a recreation or education setting. Two (2) seasons/semesters experience supervising staff.

Recreation Leader III - Sports Field Prep: Under general supervision, provides maintenance work on fields and facilities in preparation for recreation sports league games and activities. Must know how to use basic hand tools.

PAY RANGE: $15.7416 per hour starting
HOURS: 10-20 hours per week. Shifts are typically 3pm - 6:30pm.
MINIMUM AGE/EXPERIENCE: Must be 18 years old at time of hire. Possession of valid California Driver's License and DMV printout required, presented at time of hire.

Recreation Leader III - Sports Site Supervisor: Under supervision, assists in organizing and supervising adult sports leagues and recreation programs. Prepares, opens and secures facilities for sports programs and activities. Greets the public, explains sport/league rules and department policies and procedures. Acts as a scorekeeper as assigned.

PAY RANGE: $15.7416 per hour starting
HOURS: 10-15 hours per week.
MINIMUM AGE/EXPERIENCE: Must be 18 years old at time of hire. Possession of valid California Driver's License and DMV printout required, presented at time of hire.
