June 13: Neary Lagoon and Santa Cruz Wharf

Meet at Louden Nelson Community Center. We will walk to Neary Lagoon, the Santa Cruz Wharf and back. While at Neary Lagoon, we will see the visiting goats chomping down on invasive plant species around the preserve. The goats are only at the preserve for one week- if you want to see them, I highly recommended you come! Easy terrain.

June 20: Downtown Art Walk

Meet at the "Monster of Monterey" art exhibit at the north end of Pacific, 1550 Pacific Avenue (in front of Jamba Juice). We will walk around downtown with the City's Arts Program Manager, Beth Tobey. She will give us a tour of the art and murals featured around downtown- including various rotating installations. Easy terrain.

June 27: Rio del Mar State Beach (dog friendly)

Meet at the esplanade parking area at Rio del Mar State Beach (at the end of Rio Del Mar Blvd. in Aptos). Carpool if you can! We will walk ON THE SAND this time, from Rio Del Mar State Beach towards Manresa State Beach and back. We will walk along the water's edge and may get sandy and/or wet. Plan accordingly. Leashed dogs welcome. Easy terrain.

July 4: No Walk- Happy Fourth of July!

July 11: San Lorenzo River (dog friendly)

Meet at the pedestrian bridge on River Street behind Trader Joe's. Do not park in the lot unless you want to risk getting a ticket or towed. Meters are available along River Street. We will enjoy another wonderful walk with Coastal Watershed Council staff along the riverwalk and back. Leashed dogs welcome. Easy terrain.

July 18: Loch Lomond Reservoir (dog friendly)

Meet at the Loch Lomond Reservoir at 100 Loch Lomond Way, Felton or sign up for the VANPOOL. The vanpool leaves Louden Nelson promptly at 8:45am. If you don't get in the VANPOOL, carpool if you can. It is a bit tricky driving up there. We will hike the trails with our personal guide, City Park Ranger Ryan Wall. Easy to moderate terrain with a few steep stretches and/or steps. Walking stick recommended. Leashed dogs welcome.
