Given the Santa Cruz County Public Health Order to Shelter in Place , and CDC recent recommendation to cancel all events over 50 people, all scheduled Parks & Recreation events and City-permitted special events will be canceled through September 7, 2020.
In addition a moratorium is being placed on all gathering and expression permits until further notice to help slow the spread of COVID-19 to the maximum extent possible. Permits beyond this date will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Although by invitation only, does involve a street closure in order to set-up tables/chairs/canopies for neighbors to mingle.
Any political, civic, religious or other public activity intended primarily for the communication of ideas as opposed to the generation of monetary profit by the participants in or sponsors of the event or the advertisement of products, goods or services. Marches/parades that remain on sidewalks, as opposed to the street, would be included in these types of events.
FILMING for commercial purposes
Filming on public property in the City of Santa Cruz requires a permit. This application is solely for the use of public property within the City’s jurisdiction. If private property is utilized, arrangements must be made with the property owner. The Film Permit page will provide additional information and the necessary forms.
Private special events such as weddings, private picnics or park rentals are handled through the Reservations Office.
