SCMU - Covid-19 Assistance for Businesses

The health, safety, and economic vitality of Santa Cruz is our first priority. We understand that the Coronavirus pandemic has severely affected many businesses' ability to operate or even stay open at this time. SCMU offers the following options to assist businesses during the pandemic:

For businesses that are OPEN WITH REDUCED OPERATIONS

  • garbage service may be downsized
  • water and/or sewer service will remain on and ready to serve
  • please fill out the downsize garbage request

For businesses that are TEMPORARILY CLOSED WITH REDUCED OPERATIONS

For businesses that are TEMPORARILY CLOSED WITH NO OPERATIONS

For ALL customers during the pandemic:

  • no late charges
  • no shut offs for non-payment
  • no deposits
  • no collections
  • utility bills are due -- please pay what you can
  • SCMU does not offer any financial assistance
