Homeless Committee Releases its Report and Recommendations
Sky Lanterns are made from combustible materials such as paper bags or light fabrics which then take flight by the heat from an open flame candle. These devices are a fire safety hazard and the Santa Cruz Fire Department prohibits their use.

The Measure H Ocean Street repaving project will begin the week of June 19. Alternating lane closures and traffic control will be in place on Ocean Street between Soquel Avenue and East Cliff Drive.
The City of Santa Cruz is participating in the California Bye Bye Mattress recycling program to help decrease the glut of mattresses that end up in U.S. landfills.

City officials hosted the 2nd annual State of the City on May 23rd at Hotel Paradox. City staff and the mayor shared recent City accomplishments and planned efforts with a crowd of 150 community leaders.
The City of Santa Cruz is offering free summer tours of its recycling center, the Resource Recovery Facility, 605 Dimeo Lane, on Thursdays and Fridays June 15 and 16, July 13 and 14, and August 10 and 11.

SANTA CRUZ — The City of Santa Cruz is scheduled to begin the Eastside Alley Sewer Project to replace sanitary sewer mains in the streets and alleys bounded by Prospect Heights, Trevethan Avenue, Allerton Street, Morrissey Boulevard and Pacheco Avenue.
City Hall to YOU Will Focus on Housing and Neighborhoods West of the San Lorenzo River
The City of Santa Cruz, working with Levy Media Works, will utilize a small drone to take a series of aerial photos of the San Lorenzo River beginning Thursday, April 20. The drone flights are being used to create a set of aerial photographs to document the changes in the river bed due to the February 2017 storms.
