Class Instructor Information

Details and Contacts for Instructors who have been Selected to Teach

We are accepting proposals for the Winter/Spring 2015 session. Please fill out the application for proposing a class and return to us.

  • For more information call 831-420-5277.
  • Parks and Recreation Office: 831-420-5270, 323 Church St, Mon. - Thurs, and alternate Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Recreational Service Agreements should be reviewed, signed and returned. New instructors are also required to complete, sign and return a W9 form.
  • Instructors are required to call the Parks and Recreation Office 831-420-5270 regarding class enrollment at least four working days prior to the start of the class. If you have not met your minimum number of students at this time, you must decide whether the class should be cancelled. This allows the time needed to inform participants and the facility of the cancellation. You then call the Special Class Supervisor or Assistant to discuss your decision.
  • Instructors are required to receive their class roster prior to the start of the class. The Parks and Recreation Office staff can fax or e-mail it to you.
  • Participants MUST pre-register for classes.
  • IF a student comes to your class without having pre-registered, they MUST sign a waiver form  (on page 4 of the Activity Guide) BEFORE participating in the class. Payment must be made to the Parks and Recreation Office PRIOR to attending the second class.
  • If there is a waiting list, prospective students may come to the first class in hopes of getting in if a registered student doesn’t attend. In this case, the instructor should call the absent student to determine whether their spot can be made available to someone on the waitlist.
  • Keys and alarm codes will be distributed to teachers as necessary. Return keys to the Parks and Recreation Office at the end of the session.
  • If there is a problem with the facility during business hours, contact the Parks and Recreation Office at 831-420-5270. After business hours, seek out a campus attendant. If no attendant is available and the campus is unsafe or inaccessible, cancel the class and call the Parks and Recreation Office for options. If there is any type of emergency that does not pertain to the facility, call 911.
  • Most doors at school facilities are intruder locks; the door can be opened using the key but it may not be unlocked unless you use the key from the inside to “unlock” the door. The door can also be propped open if necessary.
  • Please leave the facility in the condition that it was found. Rooms/facilities should be left clean. Lights, windows and all doors as well as bathrooms and gates should be secure when leaving the facility.
  • There is no storage at the facilities.
  • PAYMENT: Instructors must fill in the TEACHING VERIFICATION FORM in order to be paid. DO NOT DUPLICATE FORMS! They are individually numbered for our finance department. Submit form to the Parks and Recreation Office after your last class. You are paid according to Section 4 of your Recreational Services Agreement. Please keep in mind that the printed price in the activity guide includes an $20.00 administrative fee that will be deducted from your total class payment. You may refer to the payday schedule to know when you can expect your paycheck in the mail. If there are concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to call at 831-420-5256 or 831-420-5270.
