The City of Santa Cruz Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, established by the City Council in 1986, is an Advisory Body to the Council. The EEO Committee is generally charged with the responsibility of confirming the City's commitment to maintaining a work environment free from unlawful discrimination and/or harassment for all current and prospective City employees. The EEO Committee serves primarily as a communications channel between employees, the City Manager, the City Council, and the community, and makes recommendations on matters related to equal employment opportunity, anti-discrimination, and harassment prevention.
The EEO Committee has nine members consisting of private citizens and City employees. The EEO Committee has administrative and logistical support provided by the Human Resources Division of the Administrative Services Department.
