Santa Cruz, CA – The City of Santa Cruz is accepting nominations for the 2013 Officer Jim Howes Community Service Award. Established in 2007 upon the retirement of Officer Jim Howes, this annual award is given to one City employee and one community member for outstanding service to the Santa Cruz community. Officer Jim Howes served as a Santa Cruz Police Officer for 26 years and was known throughout the City for his positive approach and partnership building between the City and community. Recipients of the Officer Jim Howes Community Service Award exemplify Officer Howes’ collaborative, solution-oriented approach to solving community problems.
