Describe the Event: 

Santa Cruz Fire Department responded to a confirmed structure fire at 320 High St. Crews arrived at scene to find a fire on the first floor of a 2 story attached four unit condo building that was set back from the roadway and on a hillside. Crews extended hose lines and entered the building where they found a working fire and were able to contain the fire to the first floor of one unit. All occupants had self-evacuated from all of the units and none reported any injuries. The involved unit had 3 of the 5 occupants in it when they smelled smoke, found the fire to be in their unit and were able to escape. Crews fully extinguished and overhauled the fire. The fire was investigated and found to be accidental in nature caused by electrical. The property was turned over to the owner with the occupants being displaced.

Santa Cruz Fire and Police, UCSC Fire, Central Fire Protection District and American Medical Response.
