While every attempt will be made to keep the construction disturbance to a minimum, area residents may experience traffic delays, restricted street parking, and increased noise during construction hours, as well as short scheduled periods of no water service. The contractor and the City will make every effort to give 24 hours advance notice of any non-emergency water shut down that may be necessitated by the construction.
Regular updates on the progress of this project will be available on the Water Department’s Current and Recent Projects or contact Project Engineer Kalen Dodd at 831/420-5218 or email.
BACKGROUND: This segment is part of a larger project to replace aging water mains in the Santa Cruz Water Department service area. The oldest main in this segment was installed in 1912 and has been in continuous use since then. Other portions of the water mains were built in 1926 and 1931.
