SANTA CRUZ, CA (July 5, 2012) -- There’s no excuse to be bored during the month of July – the City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer a full slate of activities as part of “July is Parks and Recreation Month,” which is a national celebration that has taken place since 1985 http://www.nrpa.org/july/.
The variety of activities range from movies on the beach at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to walks, games and volleyball. Just added to the line up is the first annual Disc Golf Festival, Saturday, July 21 at San Lorenzo Park. Plus, learn about the prickly pear cactus, a symbol of the location ancient Aztecs chose for the city of Tenochtitlan (Mexico City) at the third annual Festival del Nopal, July 22.
