Describe the Event: 

Santa Cruz Fire, UCSC Fire, Central Fire, and Cal-Fire units were dispatched to a reported Wildland fire in Pogonip Park. Units responded to the clubhouse in Pogonip and determined that there was a fire in the area. After investigation an approximately 1 acre fire was found adjacent to Pogonip Park near the railroad tracks ¼ mile away from the clubhouse. Crews limited the spread of the fire and prevented it from moving further into heavily wooded terrain or towards nearby homes. The fire was located in steep wooded terrain adjacent to the railroad tracks. A nearby encampment was located at the origin of the fire. Crews remain on scene completing extinguishment and will likely be on scene until early evening.

6 Engines, 1 Water tender, 2 Battalion Chiefs, 1 Hand Crew
