The City Council has initiated a pilot Visitor Restroom Program modeled on those operating successfully in the cities of Santa Barbara and Ventura. Under the program, the City enters into an agreement with private downtown businesses to provide restroom facilities.
The City provides the business with a Visitor Restroom sign which is displayed outside the business and pays a monthly stipend to cover the additional maintenance costs. The business makes their restrooms available to visitors and maintains the restrooms during their regular business hours.

This program is part of an overall objective of making the downtown more comfortable and attractive to visitors and community members. The program is coordinated by the Economic Development and Redevelopment Department. If you have questions about the program, please contact:

Public Restrooms in the Downtown
In addition to the Visitor Restroom Program there are also four public restrooms in the downtown area. These are located in the parking garages, at the Library and at City Hall.

- Locust-Cedar Garage The restroom is located behind the parking office at 124 Locust. It is open from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. everyday.
- Soquel Front Garage The restroom is located on Soquel at 601 Front Street just off Pacific Avenue. It is open from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. everyday.
- City Hall The restroom is located in the City Hall across from Council Chambers at 809 Center Street. It is open during regular City office hours. (Please note that at this time City offices are only open Monday through Thursdays during the furlough period.)
