Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund

In 2005, the City of Santa Cruz Redevelopment Agency received a $1,000,000 Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to establish a Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (BRLF) for the City. The fund allows qualified borrowers to borrow up to $200,000 to be utilized to clean up hazardous substances from their properties. Both the borrowers and the site must meet EPA standards (EPA funds can not be borrowed by those responsible for the contamination). The Agency is to qualify several borrowers for loans. For more information, please contact the Redevelopment Agency.

Brownfields Assessment Grant

The City of Santa Cruz Redevelopment Agency applied for an Assessment Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This grant could be used to update the City’s inventory of contaminated properties and to do site assessments for specific properties. The U.S. EPA has not yet release the list of grant recipients.
