Describe the Event:
|
At 7:16 P.M., the Santa Cruz Fire Department was dispatched to a reported person in the river who fell from the bridge. Upon arrival crews found a female clinging to the rocks on the East Cliff side of the river. Crews were directed to the Third Street side of the Boardwalk’s parking lot and the first arriving rescue swimmer was deployed on a paddle board to secure the victim. Additional units and rescue swimmers were ready for backup to assist in the water. The female was secured to the rescue board and brought back to the shore were she was evaluated and transported to Dominican Hospital by AMR. The reports from witnesses stated that she walked off the bridge and fell into the water. No obvious injuries were found on the victim.
