Describe the Event:

At 7:08 PM Santa Cruz Fire was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire at 720 Almar. Upon arrival crews found a residential structure with a bedroom on fire. Crews confined the fire to the bedroom and quickly extinguished it. One occupant was found in the garage suffering from smoke inhalation with all other occupants outside of the building. The person suffering from smoke inhalation was transported by AMR for further treatment and evaluation. The house was home to more than 20 cats and 2 dogs. Unfortunately a few of the animals perished but a majority of the animals were rescued and resuscitated by firefighters on scene.
