Parks and Recreation Offers Exciting Array of Summer Camps

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- The City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer dozens of exciting camps this summer for children and teens from four to 18 years of age. Day camps, specialty and sports camps are featured which provide half to full-day activities for up to four-week sessions.

Popular day camps at Harvey West Park include Camp Cruz (6-12 yrs), Super Camp (5-6 yrs), Jr. Explorers (6-7 yrs) and The Spot (8-10 yrs). These camps feature field trips, songs, arts and crafts, walks, games, swim time at Harvey West Pool and more. Offered in two-week sessions, these camps can be supplemented with before and after camp care for working parents.

Specialty camps featured include Camp Hip Hop and Mountain Bike Camp as well as many arts, dance, martial arts and rock climbing camps. These camps are typically one week in duration and give a fun introduction to the skills and techniques in each.

Headlining sports camps are baseball, soccer and beach volleyball. In addition to all-skill camps, specific skill camps are available for each sport including fielding, hitting and pitching for baseball; goalkeeping and U6 Fussball for soccer; and spiking and EVP style for beach volleyball.
