Describe the Event: 

Santa Cruz Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the alley behind 118 3rd Ave. The first arriving fire engine advised a well involved vehicle on fire and the rear of a 1 story single family dwelling on fire. The fire response was upgraded to a structure fire response with more resources requested. Firefighters were challenged with a down electrical service line to the residence and heavy fire coming from a propane cylinder on the vehicle that was a RV. Firefighters entered the residence and searched for any victims inside, finding none, but rescuing a dog that was inside. Multiple hose lines were utilized to extinguish the fire and prevent further spread to a nearby 2 story residence. The fire was contained to the vehicle (RV), a shed and the one dwelling. The fire is under investigation. The property was turned over to the responsible and fire crews were released.
