As of March 6, 2014, the Public Works Department will begin to enforce the revised City’s Mandatory Storm Water Best Management Practices for Development and Remodeling Projects on all new projects in the City, as required by the Regional Water Quality Control Board. The revised Mandatory BMPs are available on the City’s website at http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/LID and at the Planning and Public Works counters.

The revised BMPs require that proposed development projects incorporate varying levels of low-impact development (LID) so that the property maximizes the infiltration of clean storm water into the ground and minimizes runoff volumes and pollutant loads.
