Laurel Street Parking Changes
Posted Date: 6/19/2014

Laurel Street Parking Changes

Following the paving project on Laurel Street this fall, the street will be re-striped to include a left turn lane for Walti Street.  This change will improve safety for all users of the corridor and particularly help to reduce the number of westbound left-turning collisions with eastbound through traffic and bicyclists.

To accomplish this, a NO-PARKING zone will be added on Laurel Street along the school frontage between Felix and Walti, on the north side of the street. No changes are proposed on the south side of the street and no change is proposed for Felix or Walti Streets.  A map of the changes can be seen here.

To contest the parking changes, written appeal must be delivered to the Department of Public Works, 809 Center St Room 201, Santa Cruz CA 95060, no later than July 2, 2014. Appeals must follow the guidelines of the Municipal Code Section 10.16.015.

Please contact Transportation Manager James Burr at (831) 420-5426 or  should you have any questions.
