Say Farewell To The Santa Cruz Streetcar Trolley September 2nd at Trolley Toodles Event

Post Date:08/23/2019 1:34 PM

Join us as we bid farewell to the beloved Santa Cruz streetcar trolley, which will be replaced by electric shuttles starting summer 2020 thanks to a generous grant from the Monterey Bay Air Resources District (MBARD).

The trolley's retirement party takes place Labor Day, September 2nd from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. downtown at the Del Mar Theatre Trolley Stop, 1124 Pacific Avenue.

Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun photo booth inside the trolley to make your memories last. The mayor will also give a proclamation honoring the trolley's service. The first 100 attendees receive special candy "trolley lollies" and all attendees receive a free trolley ride coupon. Other refreshments TBA. Kids are encouraged to create their best trolley artwork that will be displayed inside the trolley during the last day's ride.

After the retirement party, be sure to catch a ride on the trolley between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Please send all inquiries to Alison Cameron, acameron@cityofsantacruz.com or call 831-420-5158.
