Repair of Sinkhole at Soquel and Ocean Scheduled to Begin Dec. 4

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — The City of Santa Cruz plans to begin repair of a now-barricaded sinkhole at the intersection of Soquel Avenue and Ocean Street on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 8 a.m. Construction will continue 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays for one to two weeks, until the repair is completed.

For traffic heading west on Soquel Avenue, the right-hand turn lane and the adjacent through lane will be closed. The other west-bound Soquel through lane and west-bound left-hand turn lane will remain open. East-bound traffic on Soquel Avenue will not be affected.

The public is advised to seek alternate routes when possible.
