Suspicious Circumstances Investigation

Post Date:12/23/2019

On Monday, December 23, 2019, at approximately 1:20 PM, the Santa Cruz Police Department served a search warrant at a residence located in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Street. The search warrant stemmed from a suspicious circumstances investigation.

Based on public safety concerns, the Emergency Service Unit (ESU) assisted in the warrant. Residents associated with the property have had numerous contacts with various law enforcement agencies. Investigators received information that one of the residents within the property has access to an assault rifle.

The Santa Cruz Police Department ESU tactical team safely secure the property to ensure the tenants were out of the area, so investigators could safely process the scene.

No arrest made at this time. The investigation is ongoing. Based on findings from the search warrant, more information will be made available when the Santa Cruz Police and the District Attorney's office complete a full investigation.
