VICTIM(S): Douglass Murdock- 36 years old


On April 26, 2020, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department investigated the body of a deceased person, located in a wooded area off of Glen Canyon Road, in the county of Santa Cruz. Due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the location and condition of the deceased person, an autopsy was conducted. Findings from the autopsy determined the person is a victim of a homicide. While the cause of death has not been determined, initial findings show the victim had been stabbed.

The victim has been identified as 36 year old, Santa Cruz County resident, Douglass Murdock. Mr. Murdock has been listed as a missing person since December 2019 with the Santa Cruz Police Department.

Currently The Santa Cruz Police Department is working on the case, and is conducting follow-up with the Santa Cruz County District Attorney and Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
