SANTA CRUZ — In conjunction with recently revised government Shelter-in-Place orders, City of Santa Cruz downtown parking meter enforcement will resume on Monday, May 11. Meter enforcement had been temporarily suspended in light of circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given updated County and State Shelter-in-Place orders that expand business activities, and in particular allow for curbside pickup, the resumption of meter enforcement aims to ensure that businesses are able to utilize downtown shared curb space.

Downtown visitors are reminded to observe all posted regulatory signage, no parking areas, and any posted temporary parking limitations.

At this time, the City strongly encourages use of the Parkmobile payment application to avoid and/or limit physical contact with the parking meter itself. Information on how to download and use the Parkmobile payment application can be found at

Downtown businesses that need additional parking accommodations to support curbside pickup are encouraged to contact Parking Superintendent Heather Sawyer at or Parking Program Manager Brian Borguno at Any other questions or concerns may be addressed by calling the Parking Services office at (831) 420-5185.
