SANTA CRUZ — The City of Santa Cruz is scheduled to begin a Seabright storm drain improvement project on Monday, June 8, with completion expected by June 19. Construction will not impact roadways, parking or use of the beach, and is scheduled for weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The project will replace an existing 34-inch by 53-inch storm water pipe that is in disrepair with a new 36-inch pipe. The project is located adjacent to the Seabright State Beach entrance at the intersection of East Cliff Drive and Mott Avenue and approximately 500 feet from Monterey Bay.

This project is officially called the CMP Storm Drain Pipe Replacement Project and is funded by SB-1 “Gas Tax” at an approximate cost of $50,000.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this construction work may cause and appreciates the public’s cooperation.
