The City Council's Community Programs (CP) Committee makes recommendations to the City Council regarding programs that receive City of Santa Cruz (City) funding through the annual CP grant process as well as the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships Program programs.

City of Santa Cruz Set Aside Funding

Solicitation for Letters of Interest (LOI)

Applications Due by 5:00 p.m. on November 22, 2019 

The City is issuing this Request for LOI, due on November 22, 2019, to fund community-based organizations to provide safety net services or related materials during Fiscal Year 2019–20. The purpose of this funding is to provide services and/or related materials that address emerging needs or otherwise unmet safety net needs. 

It is anticipated that the City will award $45,000 in total to selected respondents to this LOI.  This money is “set aside” from CORE Investments, which is the predominant funding stream for safety net services.  The City will consider LOI responses for the amount of $1,000 to $20,000 to provide services during Fiscal Year 2019–20.  Non­profit organizations and educational institutions with direct or related experience in operating social services are eligible to apply.  Only one application per agency may be submitted.  

Please Note:  The County of Santa Cruz also solicits applications for County Set Aside funds.  The process is separate from the City’s, and a separate application is required to apply for County Set Aside funds.  Additional information is available at .
