Report graffiti on public or private property in the City of Santa Cruz

The City of Santa Cruz has launched the Community Request for Service Portal (CRSP) to make it easier for community members to submit requests regarding issues such as traffic concerns, sewer spills and property code violations. To report graffiti click the button below: 

Please provide a description of the tag on the object or surface and the location with the nearest address or cross street and a photo.

The City of Santa Cruz Municipal Code Chapter 6.75 states that graffiti is prohibited and removal is the private property owner's responsibility.

Helpful Tips

Rapid and continuous removal within 24 to 48 hours is proven to be the most effective way to deterrent against graffiti vandalism. Taking preventive measures can deter further graffiti vandalism, for example:

  • security cameras
  • motion-activated lights
  • planting thorny plants or vines
  • anti-graffiti window film
  • non-sacrificial or sacrificial anti-graffiti paint coatings
  • fences and barriers to control access onto property

Call 911

If you see someone "tagging" or suspect vandalism is going to take place, do not hesitate to call 911. Your quick reporting will help us catch criminals and keep Santa Cruz graffiti free.
