As of July 6, 2020, Santa Cruz County is aligned with California's stay-at-home order. All economic, recreational and personal activities are now governed by statewide guidance. As we work to implement guidelines associated with the Stage 2 County Variance (listed within the California’s Resiliency Roadmap), we will continue to work and assess opportunities where appropriate and available.
The following permit types will be considered immediately:
- Small film permits and film crews applying for outdoor film permits
- Gathering and Expression Permits
We are evaluating all additional permit applications on a case-by-case basis. Out of deep concern for the health of our community, all individuals that are interested in obtaining an event permit will be asked to submit a social distancing protocol in addition to the standard event permit application.
We look forward to working with you. For more information on Parks & Recreation’s COVID-19 response, please visit cityofsantacruz.com/covid-19.

Any political, civic, religious or other public activity intended primarily for the communication of ideas as opposed to the generation of monetary profit by the participants in or sponsors of the event or the advertisement of products, goods or services.
