Welcome to the Santa Cruz Police Department Online Bicycle License Registration System!  We are very happy to announce an online system to make it easier for community members to register their bikes and receive a bicycle license sticker. Not only are bicycle license stickers a deterrent to thieves, but in case your bike is lost or stolen, the bicycle license registration may aide police in finding your bicycle.  This registration is free and never expires!  If you have already registered your bike and have a sticker you do not need to re-register.

Using this online citizen registration system allows you to submit a bicycle registration and have a registration sticker mailed to an address that you provide.  If you do not have a mailing address, you may make arrangements in the system to pick up your sticker. Please provide a phone number and/or email address if you need to make arrangements to pick up your sticker.

PD Staff will approve and mail out bicycle registrations in the order they are received.  In most cases you should expect to receive the bicycle license sticker within 14 business days.

How to register your bike:

***Please use a browser other than Firefox.  If you are using Chrome you will need to enable pop-ups.***

Click here to be taken to the online registration form:

Fill out as many fields as possible – the more info you can provide the better!

You MUST provide a valid serial number in order to receive your license.  Serial Numbers can generally be found on the bottom of the frame.

Please provide a correct mailing address – this is where your bike license sticker will be sent.

If you do not have a mailing address – please include a phone number/email where you can be reached and we can make arrangements for you to pick up your sticker at the Police Department.

When you are done filling out the form you will see the words: "your report has been submitted" showing that your registration has been accepted and will be forwarded to the appropriate staff member.

You will be given a police report number and you will be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.  You will also receive an email confirmation that your registration has been submitted.  However, this does not mean that your bike registration is complete.  It is not considered accepted and completed until you receive a bike license sticker from the Santa Cruz Police Department.
